The
Dos and Don'ts of
TIMBERFLEX
and FLEXBOARD
|
|
Dos
-
Attach to framework first
before applying face material. This product is designed to be
installed using conventional fabrication methods.
-
Attach with the use of
glues, staples or nails to the framework
-
Always attach to
horizontal support ribs. the use of three ribs (top, middle, bottom)
is recommended.
-
Use vertical grade HPL as
face. A horizontal grade HPL can be used provided it will bend to
the desired radius.
-
Any type of backed face
veneer (paperback, two-ply, phenolic backed veneer, etc.) can be
used as face.
-
Flexboard does allow for
the lamination of a single-ply veneer and then bending up to a
16" radius
|
|
Don'ts
-
Do not laminate while
flat with HPL, phenolic backed veneer or other stiff materials.
-
Do not attach to vertical
ribs except where seaming is to be done. If vertical ribs are used,
attaching through these ribs may deflect the panel and distort the
shape.
-
If possible, avoid
allowing face material to end on a radius. Especially horizontal
grade laminates or other similarly rigid materials.
-
Never over bend. Do not
try to bend beyond the natural stopping point when making outside
radius.
-
Do not attach single ply
veneer to Timberflex.
