Too Little Coating Weight

CAUSE

REMEDY
A The coating weight will directly affect the durability of all types of coatings. Too little coating will allow wood fibers to penetrate the film and wick moisture causing early film failure. Do not over-thin coating! Use a wet mil gauge during application and follow the manufacturer's application spreading rates. Assist new spray personnel in establishing a pattern for 1 proper application.
NOTE: Normally 4 to 5 dry mils, after sanding is recommended for proper coating weight.
